The Blessing

ESB 042513

Strolling among the trees
on a Fall moonlight night
Feeling a gentle breeze
caused my heart to feel light

Would soon be Spring
Flowers would be in bloom
Mother Nature would bring
storms with a thundering boom

Our land in a perpetual drought
put folks to their knees to pray for rain
having very little doubt
God would abate their pain

Nightly they kneel and pray
thanking and confessing
hoping they never stray
Always appreciating their blessing

Don’t have silver or gold
only God’s Grace
As I grow old
He helps me keep pace

Blesses us with a roof
Stands me upright
No longer aloof
We keep up the good fight.
